My Place/more photos
Good afternoon,
Here are several more photos of my place (downstairs, where I live) as well as a few of the yard, both front and back areas. As we all realize, decorating inside and outside is an on going process.
Ever changing, in my case. I'm always moving things around. Furniture is a lot easier to move than TREES, I have learned. And yet I have been known to move a few trees, but after a while I decide it looks pretty good where it is because it is too hard to move again!
You will probably notice more growth in front garden where pink chairs are located. Those very chairs, even though they were a modest cost of 20 dollars each last summer, have become a kind of conversation topic, with many people saying, "Oh, I know whereyou live, the house with the pink chairs in the yard! " Guess they are kind of memorable.I seem to be in my "pink phase" right now with clothes and decorating as well. Also I've included a photo of my van which has had hot pink teapots on it for years and has proven an excellent advertising vehicle. I never lose it in a parking lot, either, since it is a one of a kind van.
Have a blessed and safe 4th of July!

My place-a little tour
Thank you for comments from several of you who are regular visitors on Sonia's blog. It's amazing that I teach manners for my living (at my teaparties for girls) but Sonia is telling me there are good manners involved in blogging that I'm just beginning to learn. I am delighted to hear from those of you who left comments of encouragement and now I hope to begin having a more regular posting to really introduce myself to you all.
I always enjoy seeing a person's home to get to know them better,ie: how we choose to live and what things we surround ourselves with speaks volumes about us. I have been a professional interior designer for about 35 years, with my own design business for over 30 of those years.
So, naturally I love lots of beautiful things(beautiful to me, at least) around my home (and business). I have worked from my home both as designer and also doing my teaparties.(teaparties are now in 14th year). God is so good to have given me a home suitable for both my work and home. So here are a few photos of my place.
Also, I spoke of showing the pink linen purse I had made and now I have made a coordinating choker necklace. ( they will be available for sale on Etsy soon. Sonia spent time with me yesterday trying to teach me about uploading photos. Hope I am beginning to catch on. She is so patient.
I actually live in the lower level of my home, with tearoom, etc on main level. When I mention to others that I live in the "basement", I feel they envision sump pumps and spiders, however, I have taken what was only a cinderblock basement when I bought this house 28 years ago, and gradually turned it into a space I find cozy and comforting to me. Hope you enjoy.
Have spent lots of time working in my yard in the cool mornings the last month. It is coming along. I will share photos of it soon.

Hello, World from Miss Alice
Hello, World!
This is so exciting, getting to meet new friends! So you'll know a little more about me, I just began learning how to use a computer Thanksgiving 2008, two months before my 65th birthday in January 2009. So with a great deal of help from my new friend, Sonia, I am now moving forward, expanding my horizons, enlarging my territory, and full of joy for what comes each day.
Sonia has been teaching me about blogging and how the possibilites of the medium are so great.
Aren't those nice photographs she took of some of my creations? She has been such a blessing!
Interior design has been my main business for over thirty years, and fourteen years ago I asked the Lord to give me something new and different to do, so I began doing teaparties for girls and ladies where everyone comes and plays dress up and has "tea." I am still loving doing that, since I feel really "called" to do it: to teach girls that being a lady is a good thing, since they are not being taught that much these days .
Last fall I began another venture, designing and making handmade purses, jewelry,& accessories for ladies and their homes. I have been sewing since I was five (do the math--that means for 60 years!) I love working with color, textiles, trim, embellishments.
I have just completed a purse of pink linen printed with cabbage roses , embellished with crochet trim and beadwork. I hope to post the photo soon, rather than try to describe it, after all "A picture is worth a thousand words!"
Thank you for being patient as I absorb all this technology. I am determined , that is for sure!
So long for now.
Looking forward to meeting "you all" (I'm from the South (USA) where we say "you all" for everybody-oneperson or a hundred.
